Valve Cover Breathers
Has anyone put aftermarket breathers into a valve cover WITHOUT baffles? I have the cast Aluminum Sportsman II Valve covers which have no baffles in them so I can run my stud girdle. I also have the Moroso Breather installation kit to put in, but what prevents the oil from coming out the breather?
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks
Steve

I have the same concern on the engine I have built. I bought Moroso tall valve covers w/o baffles to clear the stud girdles and there is not enough room to even put the baffled grommets on. I am hoping the close proximity of the stud girdle to the valve cover will block any oil from going into the breather. I guess I will find out in a couple of weeks.

I also have the Moroso Tall Aluminum Valve Cover, and two K&N breathers, and only had a problem with the one on the passenger side. I now have both on the driver side ,and moved the oil cap over to the passenger side- no oil running out, yet.
They do make a stack or tube that are a couple of inches high to keep the oil from blowing out, however mines holding good with both on the driver side. I might go out there tomorrow to double check.
I know what you guys are talking, there’s no room under those cover.

I ran the K&N push-ins, but they shop that cut the holes made them 0.02" to large so they rattled and leaked!!
I got off my wallet and picked up some MOROSO weld-on baffled stacks with clamp on 1/2 hood breathers and I haven't had a problem yet, it only cost me $20 to have them welded on my tall aluminum covers.

You didn't cut your own holes ? oh man your missing out on all the fun !!! You missed all the excitment from drilling to the dremal experience ! oh not to forget about the two tons of aluminum debrie.
Next time, I'm thinking 10mm S&W hollow point, should make easy work with those holes.
