a buddy of mine has a TA, with the 305 TPI. Motor runs good once u get it running, but it has a rough start, and when you floor it, all it does is cough, with no real acceleration burst. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Just the standard-issue stuff - check ignition and plugs, TPS adjustment, IAC cleaning, check minimum air position, check fuel pressure, set base timing, scan for codes. If the car is older (what year is it?) and has a MAF sensor, check the intake ducts for cracks and leaks. My guess is that if the ignition system is sound, you're a little lean from heat, intake leaks, or poor injector flow/spray pattern.
