Running -6 Fuel Feed Lines

Just to inform the unaware, running -6 line requires modifying the sending unit and fuel pipes with -6 male end fittings. I just found this out whle under my car when the 3/8 NPT to -6 adapters don't fit. If you call summit's tech line they should be able to hook you up with the required fittings for about $10. Beware you will have to cut your sending unit tube and the fuel pipe at the engine. I'll get back to you guys on Wed. and let you know how much of a bear it'll be.

Why couldn't the just route -6 line to begin with ?!?!?!?!?

They make 3/8 and 5/16 to -6 adaptors that use the compression style connection.
We used this on my friends 82 LT1 swap and I will be using them on my swap as well.
When tightened down, they don't move at all and don't leak.

Here is one on my Intake,

The 5/16 fittings,

I believe that's what summit sent me but I'm not totally sure. Unfortunately the guy did't tell me exactly what he was sending me. Do you happen to have the part # fr the 3/8 one? Luckily that's all I need currently. Anyway I'll let you guys know more tom.

thanks for the pt#. I went to one of the local speed shops and they had it. Turns out Summit sent me flare nuts, sleeves, and male-male adapters. Guess I'll just be sendin' 'em back. Ordering by phone is a complete waste of time......Oh well. Too bad the car is still running like dog crap.

Thanks again

You can use the flare nuts and sleeves they sent you , but you'll need a 37 degree JIC flare tool to do it right (and they're not cheap).
This is actually a better way than the compression type adapters, but I've used both without any problems.

Thanks Zepher. Got tose fittings and they work great now that I got a new fuel pump. I hate it when a ne pump dies after 3 weeks. Thanks again guys. Other than that install was simple.
