Where exactly is the SES light located? Maybe no computer?
I have the lg-4 -87 Formula. The car has the ALDL(?) connector in the dash, and it has the four wireing from the distributor, but I havent seen any wireing from the carb.
It seems to me that the engine is at least somewhat computer controlled, but its hard to tell, here in Norway it wasn't mandatory with cat or any smog equipment at all.
I figured if it had an SES light, that would surely answer the question. But most of the lights in the dash are blacked out, cant really see whats behind them, or what their for. No ses light comes up when I turn ignition to run without starting it, but that could be a bulb...or maybe I just dont have a computer at all. Or perhaps it isn't supposd to light up?
Is there a good way to tell, computer or not?

Tilstad,
Great! Another Norské ThirdGenner.
If the car is equipped with the ALDL connector, you have an ECM. There should be a "CHECK ENGINE" light on the dash, and it should turn on when the ignition is first turned on. It's a good possibility that the lamp has failed.

If the computer was completely removed (and not just unhooked), you can check under the dash on the passenger side. Remove the black panel above the passenger's feet. The ECM will be sticking up inside the dash, next to the door.

OK, I'll check both. The previous owner was really obsessed about the car being all original, so it seems strange that he would have tossed the computer system. But as far as I have read about the matter, the car should have a computer controlled carb, but I cant see any wires to it. It doesn't have any of the air equipment on the manifold, nor does it have a "smog pump".
What is the smog pump really doing? Pumping exhaust gases into the intake?
But where exactly on the dash, is the ses lamp?
