Shift Linkage

Hi, my shift linkage that is under my car broke today and I was wondering how I would go about fixing this problem? The shift cable snapped for some oddly reason and I need to fix this really soon. Please help. Thanks.

Go buy a new cable and put it in.

Happens all the time. A new cable is like $20-25.
