Which is better a 383 or 327??
I want to know how high of a piston compression i can run on normal gas and How much power I can easily get out of both the 327 and the 383 with not a real wild cam and which motor will crank the most RPMS?

I agree with everyone else, a 383 would be a better choice, and if you worried about the power -> mpg type thing. Depending on what type of fuel injection method you use. I know of a guy pulling 19 mpg in city with his 383. I have no idea what parts, etc that he's useing but i know its fast and get dang good gas mileage. Then again its carbed, little easier to tune. At least from what i remember (been a while since i've messed with a carb)

i'd also say the 383. only time it is not a better choice is if you have a small car. same hp can be made with both, but 327 will have to be twisted up alot higher to make it and have considerably less torque.
