Where are the vaccum hoses located at?
I mentioned this in a post earlier about my car throwing a code 53. Well I asked Vader what to do and he said to check all the hoses and everything. Well the problem is I don't know where all these hoses are at. Can somebody please help me. Pics would be nice.

vacuum hoses are the rubber hoses located everywhere under the hood. are you carbed or tpi or tbi. i guess you have a carbed 86 and if you do, well you have a **** load of them. do you see all those hoses coming out of the front f your carb/tbi? those are vaccum lines. look at your egr solinoid or map sensor solinoid, those are vaccum lines also. all these are suspect to leaks because they can crack or they can be disconnected accidently also. good luck!!

Matt,
You should have a label on the underside of the hood or on the upper radiator support which shows the vacuum hose routing. It should look something like this:

there is really nothing much to it. other than making sure none of them are disconnected, make sure there are no cracks or any of them plugged off. print the diagram that vador supplied and follow all the vaccum lines and make sure they all go to the correct areas of the engine. when you are checking for leaks, make sure your car is running, use soapy water and check for bubbles on the lines to find pin holes. or inspect them closly and bend them here and there to find pin hole leaks.Another alternative, with the engine off, remove them one at a time and use a vaccum pump and apply pressure with the pump with your finger on the other end. This is probably the best way. or finally just replace them all!! its pretty cheap and it is comforting also. hell while your at it, change your heater hoses and radiator hoses degrease your engine and clean it up, armor-all all your hoses, repaint your air filter lid and you got a nice engine compartment thats clean and free of anykind of leaks!
