Air Compressor causing hesitation?

When I try to drive with my Air Conditioning or Defogger on, my car has a repetitive hesitation.

The hesitation occurs once every 7-8 seconds, and feels like I am tapping the breaks real quickly. My car's a 5 spd L03, and it does not happen when I have it in neutral.

I think it's just the air compressor turning on and off, but should I be happening this frequently?

Any comments appreciated,

Kurt Z.

There have been many posts about this, but no one knows the real answer. Some people will tell you that you are low on freon/refrigerant and some will tell you that depending on the humidity it should do it ofter. 7-8 seconds is a little too often for me.

Hook some gauges up and see if you enough refrigerant in the system, if you don't have gauges then take it to a shop for a full service.

Do a search to see what some of the other answers have been.
