EGR help

I want to remove the emission control systems off my '89 350Tpi Iroc. I already have how to reroute the belt to get rid of the smog pump, and I realize I will need new headers to get rid of the air injectors. But I think my big problem is the EGR, how can I keep it closed, remove all the ugly hosing, and still keep my computer thinking it is working? Any help would be great.

I don't think there is a way. If you unplug the solenoid and cap off the vacumn lines the computer will set a code 32. You can get an aftermarket chip from someone like performance research to eliminate the EGR option. A lot of people actually claim that if you dissconnect the EGR you will loose some horespower but I can't remember all the reasons behind it. I've removed my smog pump and plugged my Edlebrock header air tubes with a simple water pipe cap that screwed right onto the main air injection tube. Not pretty but it works. If you still have stock exhaust manifolds you can plug the injection holes using threaded plugs.
