gas gage not working

any one know why the gas gage is not working in my 91 RS, some one told me that is was most likely a ground wire that got disconnected and located above the gas tank. any ideas?

Well, I had that problem on my "84" and it was the circut board in the gauge cluster. The circut that leads to the gas gauge was cracked. I had a guy that works on things like that look at it and he soldered a wire around the crack and the gauge has worked fine sence.
