ticking

Hey guys, new to this forum, just 1 question, just bought an 89 RS 305 tbi, and whenever the engine is running i'm hearing a ticking coming from the distributer, since i've never really got to hands on with any of my cars in the past just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to what this noise is? thanks.

Axle/Gears: 3.42, 3.42

The injectors on the TBI also make a ticking sound.

if your positive its coming from the dist make sure the cap is on correctly, could be the rotor hitting the side of the cap.... other common but unmentioned causes would be valves or an exhaust leak
