Need quick help on 083 casting heads!

i have a friend who has some 083 heads, and he has put about $600 into them. i can probably get them for $300. they have porting of the intake and exhaust ports (There is scribing paint on the intake ports for additional porting if desired), cut for 2.02 intake valves and 1.60 exhaust valves, new valve guides, machined for screw in rocker arm studs and larger size valve springs, resurfacing and they have been coated with an industrial strength high heat coating.

Sound like a good deal?

A good set of valves is about $150-175, springs and all their hardware are $150 or so, studs are about $40.

Add it up, and see if it's a better deal than a brand-new set of better-quality castings in the first place, with all that stuff already there.

I'd say it's real close to the dividing line.
