need help with vacuum solenoid

i have found that when i had the motor rebuilt they never put back on the vacuum solenoid .I know that the lines coming from the solenoid goes to the egr and to the front bottom of the plenum but what i need to know is where the electrical connector is on the firewall and where the vacuum source is coming from that goes to the solenoid, i believe thats its only one line going to it and two going out. This is on a 1987 transam with 5.7ltr 350 tpi

Only two of the three ports on the EGR vacuum solenoid are connected to anything. One of them is an atmospheric vent, and originally had a piece of foam rubber stuck on it as a filter of sorts. Thos efilters are the first thing to fall off from age and heat, and really don't affect the operation.

If you use the upper (black) vacuum line as the source from the TB, and connect the lower (gray) line to the EGR valve, everything should work normally. The electrical connector should be hanging from the harness along the distributor, and should have a black/pink and a gray wire in it.

egr solenoid

okay the egr solenoid that i found appears to have some kind of connection to the back of the solenoid like a vacuum line plugs into it and of course the electrical connector on the side.the one that plugs into the back has got me stummped where does it come from on the car all vacuum lines are used, it seems that it would have to come from the firewall area as well, and it has a metal like keeper where it plugs to the back of the solenoid
