TIming Question

Hey quick question, If I have my timing mark on the balancer at 0 and the dist. pointing at the #1 cyl. on the Dist. Cap is that TDC on the intake.

Brian,

If the distributor has never been disturbed, that should be TCD on the compression stroke - both valves closed on the #1 cylinder. If the distributor is pointed directly away from the #1 cylinder, that would be TDC on the exhaust/intake strokes.

BTW - I presume we're talking about a SBC V-8.

Yes we are talking about my 89 305 TBI Camaro. I will pull the valve covers and check the valves I just want TDC before I pull the motor.

Thanks So Much
Brian
