Raising the tpi powerband
I'm planning a 350 swap into my 86 iroc/305 and would like to know the best way to raise the powerband of the tpi. I've read that the slp siamesed runners help top end, would these be a better choice than the ASM long tube runners for my application? It's going to have the vortec baseplate as I'm using vortec heads. With porting of everything involved can I expect any kind of noticeable difference in top end performance?
slp runners...get them siameased, ported plenum (knock out walls), and a 58mm tb. definate power increase, and more rpms.
lt4 hotcam would be next on the list.
might want to think about bigger injectors with that setup though.

Oh yeah, I'm going to get 24 lb. injectors. I want to use a pretty aggresive cam thats why I'm seeing how I can raise the powerband. I was thinking of something around the comp cams xe 284H cam. Am I wrong in thinking that a LT4 hotcam is relatively unusable with the tpi? The specs on that thing just sound mean.
Anyway, Thanks for the info.
Anyway, Thanks for the info. Honestly, not to be rude, but I'd check into a 350. To raise the powerband enough for a bigger cam, head work is a must. And those stock heads on a 305 aren't the greatest. I had a 383 stroker tpi with stock heads. I changed the runners, and the throttle body and actually lost time in the quarter mile. I sold the car before I invested in a good set of heads. But if I would have gotten them, I'd be in the 12's or better.
If you really want something to raise your ET's, nitrous always helps.
