fuel pump question!

fuel pump question!
I'm swapping my tpi to a carb and need to know if I have to rewire the fuel pump or just leave the computer in the car and run it off that. So far I know i need a fuel pressure regulator but what else will I need?

Transmission: 700R4
I may be wrong but I thought the computer looked at engine RPM and will shut the fuel pump off after a few seconds if the engine is not turning.
