Okay, I'm setting my valve lash and like a usual i am lost on the numbering of the cylinders. Is it:
2468
1357
Or is it random?
Another question is it correct that the intake and exhaust valves don't alternate (IEIEIE) but rather IEEIIEEI??

Driver side front is number one, pass side front is #2...driversdie has 1, 3, 5, 7
Pass side has 2, 4 , 6, 8...in that order from front to back

Four stroke engine ===> Intake opens during intake stroke, then closes by top dead center. Exhaust opens during exhaust stroke, then closes by bottom dead center. Unless I've had a 22 year long gross conceptual error, the valve action is IEIEIEIEIE...
There is an overlap period during which time the exhaust valve and intake valve are both partially open at the same time, but there's no reason for either the intake or exhaust valve to open more than once for every two turns of the crankshaft.

Pick your engine...
