Ok im looking for a hydraulic roller camshaft with ~.460 lift both ways. All I can find with these lift specs is the lt4 cam. It only has 203/210 separation tho. Id like something around 225/230ish.
That is a fuel injection camshaft...i have carb so I can get away with alittle more cam.
Is it possible to run a hydraulic non roller cam in a roller block? I ask because within the next year I will be pulling this cam (more than likely) and going for something bigger. Since I will be adding heads.
hydraulic cams are cheaper and i could find the cam Im looking for. Im sure roller would add alittle hp tho.

Ok I need pushrods, the lifters, and the cam correct. I just need a set of pushrods for a non-roller motor right. How about the timing chain. I should go ahead and get a non-roller cam timing chain to correct? Is that all I would need to switch? I can get rid of the spider valley thing and the retainers it holds down right?

Correct. The cam sprocket is totally different on a flat tappet than it is on a factory roller cam.

Would rather buy the comp cam high energy 268 with a .454/.454 with 218/218* ---hydraulic
or a lt4 roller cam that has ~.465/.480 WITH 1.6 rockers. And has a duration of 203/210.
Which would yield better power?
