How much oil pressure will i have using the stock yellow spring?

I bought the standard volume pump for a 79Z28 w/350 it comes with a yellow spring. The one I had before i think, came with a white spring. I had oil pressure of 55-60 psi with it. BTW This going in the 406 IM building.

I was thinking if the yellow spring isnt enough i could swap out the springs. How do you get that little pin out to pull the spring out of the pump? IM looking for about 60psi max.

Mike

i use the melling m55 standard preasure pump and get around 50 to 60 psi oil preasure. lot of people replace the spring with the mr gasket HP spring. i weld a brace on the pick up tube and bolt it to the pump.

Hey ede..the one i bought is from sealedpower/federal mogule. The other one i have is the melling pump but its the high volume one.

Its for a Z28 you would think it would have at least 55psi. The guy behind the counter didnt know what the psi would be.

EDIT: I was just looking at the part number on the pump and it says DM 55 isnt that the part number for the standard volume melling pump?
