84 700r4 in a 85 c10?

I have a 1984 camaro that Im parting out. A buddy of mine has a c10 pickup with a 350/th350 combo. He has 4.10 rear gears and would like to try to use the 700r4 since it has overdrive.

Can he use it? Im sure he would have to get a new crossmember. What about the torque arm? How can that be mounted?

A truck doesn't have, or need, a torque arm.

He will need a different crossmember, and to get his drive shaft shortened. Both of those items are plentiful in junkyards.

He'll also need the TV cable, and its bracket from a carb/700 combo.

Starting in 1982 GM put the 700R4 in the light duty pickup truck, depending on the year of your buddies truck he may be able to get a driveshaft & crossmember a salvage yard that will bolt on.
