Changed the valve seals today, and while getting the spark plugs back in I broke a wire and am not too sure what it is. It's on the driver side, between #1 and #3 spark plugs... its a small sensor that goes into head. Can anybody fill me in on what it is?

Secondly, when I got my car up and running (minus the broken wire/sensor) I took it out for a spin. Drove it down the road, turned around and then got on it hard. Took off like usual but I noticed it wouldnt shift out of second - - but by the time I realized this my interior was filling w/ smoke from the tranny . I quickly let off the gas and limped home. Turns out the RV cable, or whatever the hell it is that connects to the throttle body wasnt hooked on but just sitting there... another dumb mistake . Anyways, would this have done any major damage to my tranny or car?

I'd start it up and drive it around to see how it works but the damn thing wont start up again - - still havent pinpointed my fuel problem yet

TIA.

The wire went to the temp sensor for the coolant temp gauge as stated. A friend of mine's tranny eventually went after driving with no TV cable hooked up, he was used to vacuum. You should be fine tho, just hook it back up and readjust it.

thanks guys

I'll have to splice in some extra wire and get a new connector as the wire broke off at the connector.

Im hoping the tranny is fine and dandy... only drove on it for 5 minutes or so, and once i noticed the smoke I let off. Say a prayer for me anyways
