Maryland Inspection

Whats up guys, I just moved to Annapolis, Maryland from Delaware and now I am trying to get my car inspected. I took it to one place today and they basically told me I had no chance to get it inspected so do not try. Well, I need to get this thing inspected so what do you guys from Maryland do to get your cars through inspection. They told me crap like I cant have this steering wheel and all kinds of BS. Please help me out here.

Thanks
Tim

Go to another shop.Maryland is pretty though.as far as the steering wheel goes if its smaller than stock he's right. All shops are supposed to do the same inspection process, but we all know it dosent happen like that.Where did you take it?

I've always had luck going to tire shops with young guys working there for inspections when i can't find a shop with 'friends'. They usually won't hassle you over dumb details.

On the other hand, real mechanics can be a pita sometimes because after all, their inspection license is an important part of their lively hood. So if you get busted with a car that shouldn't have passed inspection, and they signed the sticker, they take heat just like you.

I totally agree with the Tire Store idea. You'll find it a major PITA to get it done at any place where the mechanic is over 28. Not having the battery tied down to spec, exhaust clearance, headlight alignment, it gets insane. I have all my old emmisions parts, so when I run through the sniffer, I make it through with out any trouble. Good luck! BTW, I live about 70 miles NW of you if you'd like to meetup sometime. That goes for any other MD/VA/WV/PA/DC guys as well!
