I took my car to the shop, had a brand new engine put in, a wiring harness,and most all parts are new that were put back on the engine. They put a new fuel pump in and to do that they cut a 8x16 inch hole over the gas tank, almost cutting through the hoses, and duck tapped it closed without even asking or telling me what they did. It pretested and passed smog. Later that day we picked the car up, the rpm's started at 3 and shot up to 12 within 20 seconds,and wouldn't level out after that. I went to put it in Reverse and it stopped half way between P and R. Got 3 blocks and the temp. went to 220 degrees. They put 3 1/2 quarts low of trans. fluid and tranny was not adjusted, also 1 1/2 quarts over full of oil. While car was running it just shuts off. Big clouds of black smoke, then big clouds of white smoke. Took it to another shop to have the diagnostic checked with an actual diagnostic mechine, they told me it wouldn't hold a code or give a code. It could be a number of things. He told me it could take hundreds of dollars and hours to solve this problem, so where do I start? What parts need to be tested? What did this mechanic do to my car? How do you get the main computer tested? Why won't the computer give any codes? I know the computer was good before all this, because it was giving codes. All the main parts are new what did they do to make it screwed? How could my car have passed smog? I need help in elminated some of hundreds of hours of things.
