How hard is it to change a flywheel?? Just had the motor rebuilt but they didn't use the new flywheel I bought and used an old one. Motor is in the car now. What would I need to do to change it??? 350 engine with 700r4 Trans

well you will need to drop the tranny (that includes linkage (tv cable, electric OD on the dirver side and perhaps the dipstick, etc) as well as the bellhousing bolts and torque converter, drive shaft and mounts. After that the flywheel will be open and if you don't have a air impact handy, prey to *** you have a big break bar and just shove a good flatheadded screwdriver to keep the engine from turning over (do that for the torque converter bolts too).

My opinion if all your doing it for cause u have a new flywheel, it ISN'T worth the hassel. Transmission removal and install can be dangerous, if you are going to do it, make sure you have help.

Well to be honest, I'm NOT doing it just because I have a new flywheel. Right now my car is making a weird sound. When I had the engine rebuilt I bought a new flywheel. The crappy mechanics (last time I ever go there) didn't put my new flywheel on and put an old one on that is just abot had it. I found the new one that I bought on their chevy engine that was going into his 34.

Basically I got screwed over. Sorry. Didn't want to make it seem like I was only doing it because I had a new flywheel.

Thanx for the info
