Removing Smog Pump????

I just took it off but there are two sensors in the plastic black box that all the air hoses run to. I removed the sensors from the box and just put them aside still plugged into the wires. Will leaving them unhooked do anything?? what should I do???

I dont have the wires hooked up to anything, just taped them out of the way. Been that way for years now.

I taped mine up too, just don't let them get onto your exhaust manifold like I did and let them melt. It tends to blow fuses, and then you have no gagues, and when you are on a long trip, thats not very good.

Those "sensors" as you call them are actually selenoids. They are used to redirect the air to eighter the cat ar to the manifolds. I do believe the computer doesn't "test" if they are there/functioning or not so just pull the plugs and tuck them in a safe place.
