69-85 engine. Different for 86 & up?
I always see shortblocks advertised as replacements for 1965-85. What's the difference between those and 86 & up engines. Is it the way the heads and intake manifold bolt up together? Will this present any concern when I swap in my 383 in my 91 RS?

The bolt pattern on the rear of the crank is different; the newer flange is smaller, and designed differently to work with the one-piece rear main seal. You will have to change your flywheel or flex plate to the older style if you have the older block. Other than that, everything will be OK.
