I even haven't even opened her up to see whats wrong but i was wondering how determental that loud ticking noise can be to my engine?

Could be a broken rocker arm, loose rocker stud, or weak spring. The most dangerous is the spring. Swallowed valves don't mix with pistons too good. The least it could be is a bad lifter, noisy but not critical. Find the culprit, tighten according to specs. All that would take is one valve cover gasket. If its a rocker or stud, both can be fixed easily. Try the easy stuff before digging into the hard stuff.
