Can Clutch "Chatter" Damage anything?

Theres a nasty noise down by my transmission when I come off the clutch with any kind of RPMs on the motor and im in gear. You can even hear something rattling underneath the car when your foot is off the clutch pedal. I was told that it was clutch chatter and it wont hurt anything until he can fix it in 2 weeks.

True? is this whole idea bogus? I had a second opinion and the guy thought the input shaft was ****ed up.

Trans mount. When you let off the clutch, especially if you take off even moderately hard, the trans is lifting off the crossmember and the driveshaft is hitting the tunnel.

Get a polyurethane one, like Energy Suspension.

The noise is down by my feet and towards the front of the car, not behind me though.
