Power Window Motor...
Anyone know if the power window motor in our cars was used in any other GM cars?...Having a hard time finding a driver side motor for my 92 in the yards.
TIA
TIA
Fro,
The motor itself it pretty common. The entire window regulator assembly is unique to the 'F' bodies.
Before you cut the rivets from your existing motor, check the carbon brushes in the little blue plastic cap to see if they are still long enough to provide good commutation. Typically, this is all that fails on a window regulator motor. The other common failure item in the circuit is the switch.

I've tried another switch before pulling the door panel off and the window still acts the same.
Are you saying that the brushes can be replacd without removing the motor? Almost like the old style alternators? Are these "typical" brushes? Where do you suggest I start looking for them if they are bad, Chevrolet?
Thanks
