vortec heads/tpi

how well do the vortecs really work good? I can get a set for 100.00 are they worth it? and I want to use the lt1 intake later but, I thought the tpi lower would work if you added aluminum to the top?

Vortec heads are awesome! But, you will have to get a correct intake for them. Adding material to cover up gaps on a regular intake will work, but the ports will still be off. If you just have to stay LT-1 style, then you can convert an LT-4 intake which will work with vortec heads.

I was just looking at the lt1 manifold convertion prices holy cow! they are very $$$$$$ for used converted stuff. maybe I will pass on the heads I mean why spend that much cash when you can buy a better intake for just a little more.
