In-line fuel pump

I want to put an in-line fuel pump on my previously tpi car. I want to leave the stock pump in the tank, just disconnect the power supply. I also want to do away with my 3 port regulator, just have the electric in-line pump - will this work ? If not, what do I need to do to make it work ? Thanks

If your talking about going carbed it's pretty simple, I had a 305TBI and left everything the way it was and just put a Holley "red" fuel pump in-line, just in front of the driver side rear tire. No problems whatsoever just that I disconnected my ECM....

yeah, that what i mean - i should have been more specific. so with the in-line pump and my pump disabled in the tank, the in-line will pull it right through the pick up ?
