Need help from mini-ram owners
Need help from mini-ram owners
ok.....bought me a complete mini-ram...have my heads picked out (58cc Canfield 195s)....just wonderin how radical I can go on my cam? I always thought bigger was better (at least thats what the girls said) until I got reading up on them. The shortblock is factory (38k) and if my figures are correct, compression should be around 10-1 with the 58cc heads. I'm thinking somewhere around 224°-226° @ 50 with a mid 500 lift. Would I be happier with a bit more duration or am I on the right track? Thanks in advance. PS...weekend warrior more so than a daily driver.
------------------
if weekend warrior.. then i'd go for a cam in the 230 range, but at the same time get a torque converter with a higher stall speed(you'll have to ask someone else as to whether to get a lock up or not) to work with the cam, because a big cam with a low stall speed converter = no good. im not sure if any cam is specifically made to work with mini ram's or not, but i'd imagine that your power range is btw 2500-5500, so get the cam & converter to work within that range... good people to talk to are the tech guys at summit (www.summitracing.com), who are very helpful in helping you pick out what you need
