Quick question
I don't know what stall converter I have. How can I tell? I'm going to be doing an engine swap and so I'd like to know if a stock conv. would make the car stall or what. The engine isn't going to be all that crazy since I need to pass NJ emmisions with it. I haven't desided on a cam shaft but the one in the f-body caprice engine offered from sdpc is probably the closest. Please help, if you think I need a new converter where is the best place to get one for a 4L60?

basically your stall speed is where the car has to move forward or the engien dies. hold the brake and give it some gas, like you're doing a burn out and watch the tack. the rpm will be your stall speed. car weight and other factors have a bearing on stall speed, most aftermarket converters don't reach the advertised stall speed in a thirdgen.
