Need advice 89 Camaro RS V6 starting problems.
Hello everyone, I bought a 1989 Camaro RS V6 2.8L a few months ago. I had problems with it starting in the beginning.
I would turn the key and nothing would happen. It seemed to only do it when the engine was hot. I took it to the Chevy Dealership to be diagnosed. They said it was the starter, so I got a new one. It seemed that the problem was solved until 9/4/03.
I went to get my emissions test, I was very happy that I passed.
Anyway, I made a stop at an auto parts store. When I got back into the car, it did the same thing it did a few months ago. I turned the key, and nothing, I sat there for about 10 mins. and then the car started right up. The Dealership has it now and it won't duplicate the problem for them. Any help is greatly appreciated. Mileage is 101,000. Thanks, Wallace.

Normal third gen issue. Solenoid experiences "heatsoak". Easiest fix is to use a remote starter relay (as used by Fo*d) it supplies more juice to your solenoid to overcomme this problem.

That's what it is and I think I'd replace the entire starter.
