MSD Coil, Box, Wires, and GM drop in coil
MSD Coil, Box, Wires, and GM drop in coil
I want to upgrade my ignition. Im thinking this would be a good mod for me to tackle right about now. Im thinking about getting everything (the MSD blaster 2 coil (already got), the MSD 6A series Ignition box, MSD 8.5mm Wires, and the drop in GM Blaster Replacement Coil.) at once. Is this a good idea and will I notice any big gains by ALL of these installed at once? Thanks!!!

no, they will certainly not hinder ur performance, but they wont give you any noticable hp gain.. unless your spark is so low already. ive got a MSD 6A box, car starts quicker and runs sorta smoother, but its not the same as like... 'real' engine upgrades.

I added an MSD 6AL and Blaster SS coil to my car. Previously, I had "just" an Accel computerized HEI supercoil, and MSD 8.5 wires.
With the 6AL, I noticed a definate "wake-up" in power across the board. I didn't expect that; since my ignition system seemed to be in top shape already- wires/plugs/dist cap/rotor were new, and I rebuilt the distributor (new module/pick-up coil, fixed reluctor gap) a year ago.
Everyone's experiences differ, though! Mtx28's right; usually no gain, or a minimal gain, will be seen.
