305 crank question with a twist

i read that for the 350 crank in a 305..
here's what i want to do. i have the 305 out of my 84 z28, and i'm planning on scrapping the block.
can i use the crank and rods in a 350? i'm planning on getting new pistons, and will have everything balanced, if the crank doesn't need ground.
any ideas? advice?
