Cutting floor for T5?

Cutting floor for T5?

How do I know how far back or forward this hole needs to be? I need some help. Thank you Kevin

if you pull up the carpet there may be a panel patching a hole made at the factory. if not put the trans in place or close to in place and make a mark, drill a pilot hole and then cut your hole. i'd think you could be off a good bit and still have it work out ok since there is a seal and the console to cover it.

Ede is thinking of the hole you have to cut for the slave cyl, there is no carpet under the console where you have to cut for the shifter. the only way to really do it is to put the tranny in place, jack it up, and mark where it needs to be cut. But, like he said, if it's messy or off a bit it doen;t matter, it'll be covered with a rubber boot.
