I just thought of something. Earlier I asked about swapping a 86 firebird T5 into an 88 firebird. The 86 firebird has a mechanical speedo sensor, the 88 firebird has a VSS. Am I screwed?

 

What trans do you have now? You can swap speedo sensors from T5's to T5's and from 700R4's to 700R4's, but you cant swap from a T5 to a 700R4 or 700R4 to a T5.
