Your not going to believe this!!!!

Im getting a 400ci BB, Turbo 400 Trans, and some speed Torque converter for get this ... $150! My boys friend ripped it out of his older (2nd gen) T/A. He said the block just needs to be honed(sp?) Ima build it up with some AFR heads, 230-240dr cam and prob a carb. I want more hands on with engines so ima just build it in my spare time. Im also looking at a 427-454 rotating assembly by feb too. peace

Uh, BB Chevy, or Pontiac?

Big difference.

(Oh, a 427 rotating assembly won't do you any good in a 400 BBC. The cranks are the same, and the pistons won't work - you can't bore it to 4.250". And, a 454 crank would give you a wierd, custom-pistons-required combo.)

Installing a BBC is not easy. But, it's a lot easier than installing a Pontiac engine. There are numerous threads about that over on the Motor Swap forum. Try a search over there, see what you find.

Beyond that, you've about exhausted my knowledge on Pontiac engines. (Want to talk more about BBC's, I've got a little more left there. )

Well, it might be more accurate to say there are no small block Pontiacs...
