Hello everyone! My car is running really well. with the exception of the check engine light coming on after about 45 min. on the highway. I have a 1985 IROC with the 305. Says its a code 32. have check the egr itself and that it was fine.( it moves freely and no leaks). I have searched the old boards and found a flow chart for the diagnostics of the egr on a TBI engine and woundered if it was the same. And If i read it right With Ignition on and the engine off ALDL not grounded the valve should not move. Mine does when I apply vacum. But i am not sure if that is the right test for a TPI. ( Is the TPI flow chart the same?).. sorry for the long post but this is driving me crazy... The only thing that has been done to the car is new injectors and a Motorvator Computer chip the street version. The chip was not suposed to change much. Shift points and timming maybe? Thank you for your help.

I got the right chart.. Thank you. But stuck where it says the test light should flash mine does not. it just stays on. I even change the computer with a new one .. Help

Can anybody help me I followed the chart that was posted and got to the test with the test lamp. It did NOT flash. it did light up and stay on. this led me to check the ground and the computer. I think that I was checking the ground correctly but I am not sure. Any way I ended up changing the computer (that was the next step if the ground was OK) And I ran thru the test again and the light still did not flash. Now I have spent $80 on the new non returnable computer. And still do not know if I fixed the problem... Please help me I did take it for a ride afterward to check and no check engine light. But why did the light not flash like it is supposed to....?
