i got a 327 short block a couple months ago and im trying to decide what to do w/ it.

This is what i know for sure:

It has lt1 pink rods
Forged speedpro pistons
Bored .40 over

This is still up in the air.
The box the crank is in says it a LA Billet Crankshaft. I know its not cast cause it rings like a bell when you tap it.

The block has rust (not too bad) and needs new cam bearings (i had to pull the rear freeze plug and pound the cam out. There is also a chip missing next to one of the rear main seal bolt main blot holes.

So my question is is this worth building or selling. I would raise the compresssion of my vortec heads to 10.5 to 1. and would loose the ****ty 305.
I was thinking about running nitrous on the 305, and if it blows i would have a 327, with hopefully a realy strong bottom end to shoot more nitrous.

For real I could use another 327. If theres rust on the cylindar walls and its already .40 over I wouldent use the block if it were a large journal. Find another donor block with a 4in bore AKA 4 bolt 350. Core blocks usually run $100 for a 2 bolt $150 for a 4 bolt If its a large journal 327. Either way it will produce more power then your 305.
