not enought fuel?
My car starts to die around 3500-4000 revs, sounds like theres not enought fuel getting through, Its a 82 Z28 305 ci fitted with Edelbrock, holley 600sec vac & electric fuel pump. These were fitted before I bought the car. At first it wouldn't run properly but fitting a disposable fuel filter sorted that. An awful lot of crap was being sucked through but now seems to be clear after several filters (its between the pump & carb, pump being at the front mounted on the inner fender). I have just dropped the fuel tank & removed the sender unit but cannot see any more dirt in the tank, a few specs but certainly not enought to cause a blockage or starvation at high revs. Also checked the pump & no dirt, have rebuilt the carb & again no blockages. I will blow the fuel pipe through with an air line to make there are no blockages. All the emission stuff has long gone & the two inner pipes on top of the sender have blocked off by some one.
Is the electric fuel pump not strong enough to cope with the carb ect, I should refit the mechanical which I still have, My old 79 Z28 had this with a Holley 750DP & was fine!
Is the fuel filter to high as sits above the pump but below the carb, should I fit it between the pump feed fuel line from the tank?
Any ideas will be much appreciated
Thanks Damian

RE: the electric pump...you'd have to do a fuel volume test to know what it's capable of.
One thing about electric pumps like what I'm thinking you're using, is they prefer to push, instead of pull and should be mounted close to the tank as possible.
