Compression help
I know it would be a ballpark guess but does anyone know what
the approximate c.r. would be of this setup.
-355 chev
-flat top pistons w/ 4 valve reliefs
-72 cc heads
I am guessing 9.0-9.5:1,and would this support a Comp Cam
XE-274(230@50,.487lift int. 236@50,.490lift exh)The rest of the
setup is a 700r4 a 3.73 gear,15/8 shorty headers,750 v.s.,w.p.
sportsman II intake.3600lb Camaro. Looking for high 12`s here.

I just learned how to do this so I'm practicing.
When I figured it I got 8.97
I used .025" deck height and .038" gasket and 6cc valve reliefs.

Your about right because 355 flattops with 76 cc's are about 9 to 1 so I would say about 9.3 to one. THat's pushing it for that cam, you should have put more compression because that much duration has a good amount of overlap. I say say it'll work fine though.
