I am trying to decide whether or not to do a camshaft swap in my
car now that it is emissions exempt.I have done a search on the
C.C. XE-274 there are guys running this on the street and say it works well.I have an old issue of PHR and they do a cam swap
in one article.They have a 9.5:1 350 with a 750 carb,Performer RPM intake and Dart Sportsman II heads and a C.C. XE-262
(very similar to my cam). After swapping inthe larger XE-274 they
gained 48 hp.Now the thing is when I do the same swap on DD2000 I only see a 5 hp. gain and lose 13lbs/ft tq.

I'll believe an in-exact computer simulation to real-world quantified testing any day...

Do you have real head flow data to enter in DD2000? Are you entering full cam-card info, or just basic catalog spec data?
