Please Help!

I was driving home yesterday, in my 89 Firebird Formula 350 TPI, and all of a sudden my tach went straight to Zero! I then pulled off the road and the car was barely running (engine was making noise etc). In order to ensure further damage was not done, I shut the car off immediately. After a few minutes, I tried to start it again... the engine rolled-over, but did not start. So i called a wrecker and had it towed. My father looked at it last night and said that he hooked up a device (sorry-can't remember the name) to one of the spark plugs and when the engine was rolling-over, it showed NO SPARK. Does anyone have any idea what may have happened or what I should check?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

all of the parts in the ignition system, trace backwards till you find spark, or start at the module (my guess) amd have it tested

Yup, definitely ignition related, very likely the module.

They are cheap and easy to replace, not a big deal at all. Don't forget to clean its mounting surface and use the heat sink grease that comes with the new module, it's critical.

Thanks for the help ede and RB83L69!

You were both right... it turned out to be the module.
Cost $35 at AutoZone with a lifetime warranty.
I'm glad that was all that was wrong.

Thanks again.
