a/c compressor

is my a/c compressor supossed to try to cycle when the heat is on? not sure if its called cycling but i thought i may have heard thats what it is. anyway, when the heat is on and the car is at idle the compressor clicks and the rpms raise as if the a/c was on. now it just doesnt stay there, it clicks on rpms go up. a few sec. later it clicks off, rpms go down to normal. my a/c works great for having never been charged before. but since its almost winter it wouldnt bother me to disconect the compressor if i have to. so if thats what you would recomend which of the two plugs on the compressor need to be disconected? btw, if its supossed to do that, that sucks cause its damn annoying...lol

No, it shouldn't be cycling. It should only cycle when: selector lever is in the AC position, or in the defrost position. If you can't figure it out, disconnect the flat connector near the front, the smaller round one is for the AC compensator circuit (tells the computer to idle up when AC clutch has power and is engaged). make sure your selector lever is working good (blowing out front vents, floor only, and defrost). It might be stuck in defrost if it doesn't do that, engaging the clutch.
