Car: 91 Red Sled
Axle/Gears: 10bolt Richmond 3.73 Torsen
No EGR = more knock?
I presented the 330hp vortec headed engine swap project to my local mechanic and he told me that it would pass everything except the knock test. The knock is worse because the EGR isn't present, something about EGR having a cooler combustion chamber. I'm trying to figure a way around this. What are some tricks to "hide" the knock? Would a custom chip help? If there isn't any cheap way around this I think I'm going to have to claim residency in Ohio so the car is never inspected. What do you all think?
