are the exhaust ports in the same location on dart iron eagles as they are on my stock L03?

reason i ask is, im getting kinda ancy and i want to do SOMTHING now... and since i dont have my 400 completed yet, i was thinking about putting the longtubes on the L03, and fabbing the exhaust up now...

but i dont want to do all that, and then find that i have to redo it to work with the 400....

is anyone POSITIVE that they are in the same place?

I would bet not. My AFR's caused the Hooker LT's to hit the frame. Most all good flowing aftermarket heads have revised port locations.

I have a set (200s) in my garage at the moment.

The bolt holes are in the same place; but the ports are raised with respect to the bolt holes. So if your headers have tall tubes, or the tubes are raised above the centerline of the bolt pattern (as many headers are), they will fit and work fine.

just so im 100% clear

the header will bolt on in the exact same spot in the car with both the dart and the stock heads.... but with the stock heads, the ports match with the bottom of the tubes, and with the darts its either centered or the top??

Yea, the headers will be in EXACTLY the same spot as stock. Dart raises the port EVER SO SLIGHTLY relative to the bolts, but every header I have ever bolted onto them seals up no problem. And I have used some seriously cheap-a$$ headers. Never a problem.

Remember they don't have an exhaust crossover so you won't have functional EGR system any more. The ECM might figure this out and throw a code. Don't know. Never tried them on a TBI engine.

one more thing, at least my iron eagles(in my truck) are angle plug, so without the right headers, you may (read; will) encounter some plug/wire clearance issues(I use accel header plugs)
