Ever since I bought this T/A last year, I have been wondering as to what camshaft is in the bloody thing. Supposedly, it had been rebuilt & the block had been freshly repainted, so well that the block HAD to have been out, and a camshaft was supposedly added. There is a part # sticker on the old stock air element I have, that goes as such:

Part #: 12-207-2, 12-208-2, 12-206-2

Carb exec order: D-279-6

So it could be any one of these 10 grinds, or what? I would assume the carb exec order means it's c.a.r.b. approved. The car pulls well (for a 305) to 5,500RPM or so (ever since the performer intake & tes headers went on), but the 3.73's could pull anything past peak horse rpm, so...

Now I have these torquer 305 heads to go on (possibly), and a smoking 350 on a stand in the driveway. I figure slap on the heads and drive it into the dirt. =) But if this cam is new, and agressive enough (for 300-325 horse) maybe I can slide it into my 350. Otherwise, I'll be saving for that XE268 package.

That is a multi-item decal. That CARB EO number on the bottom applies to all the part numbers listed above, one of which (no way to tell which one) you presumably have.

I missed a little something when I first looked at their spec sheets. I didn't notice the different part number beside each one, DOH. Don't I feel smart. You would be best off calling Comp and asking the what the **** is up.

It could be any of those grinds. The only way to know with any degree of certainty is to get a degree wheel and a dial indicator and measure it. Those are all relatively mild cams obviously, as they would have to be to have a CARB #, they range from a dupe of the old 151 cam (yuck) to some 260s, 262s and 265s. Some of them are performance oriented and some are RV/towing and some are near stock replacement.
