smog pump...

I have an 85 LG4 and I don't require emissions on it. I was thinking about removing the smog pump but before
i do, will I have any computer problems? and will it free up any horsepower? Thanks.

I have an '86 Trans Am and I unplugged my smog pump a long time ago! I've had ZERO problems with the computer and since the belt is no longer there, I'm sure the HP gain is there....just very minimal!

Soon to upgrade to a 327 TPI with pocket ported 64CC heads, comp cam, TPI air foil, Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator, possibly bigger injectors!
Current project: Keeping my car running until I get the money for the above mentioned project! :-)

I took mine completely off because I bought Hedmann ceramic coated headers w/no air tubes. I have not had any problems.
